About

What is the Little Aussie Foodie?

To get right to the point, the name and concept is quite simple, yet on a number of occasions, it's been misunderstood. The 'Little Aussie Foodie' was originally a way of describing myself, Matt Setter. The 'Foodie' part is just that, being a foodie, someone who loves food. Whether it's expensive food, simple food, food from a particular country, or any country, region, flavour or type. The Little Aussie is an Australian vernacular reference for being Australian.

It is not meant to mean that all the reviews are based in Australia, nor that they're exclusively about Australian food. I love finding places with great food, experimenting when I'm somewhere I've never been, or a place I've been many times, and just finding out what a different dish, or a completely new menu selection is like. In addition to that, it's a diary of sorts. Somewhere for very visibly recording places (restaurants, cafe's etc), what they looked like, who I was there with, when I was there and what the overall experience was like.

What the site is not, is a professional food critique site. I do not claim to be an expert in all the many facets of food and dining. I just write, courteously and constructively, from my own experience, with no intent to slander or deride anything or anyone. So if you see your restaurant, cafe or business reviewed here, and you don't like what you see, please let us know.

Why another food review site?

There are a lot of great food and review websites in the world, that's for sure, but there is always room for another voice, another opinion, and more ways of getting the word out about the great things in life.

So that is why the site is here. Not to cash in, but to share and create a community for other to share in an open and friendly way. So if you'd like to contribute your voice to The Little Aussie Foodie, no you don't have to be Australian, let me know and we'll, hopefully, get you going.

Cheers,

Matt
