Metro Garden Restaurant & Bar (Modern European)

Mid-Friday evening, we had the good fortune to try out Metro Garden Restaurant and Bar. We were walking up from Balham towards Clapham (South, Common and North). As we live in the area, I'd been meaning to try out a number of the places that I'd see when walking around the area. Metro Garden was definitely one of these.

We took a chance, not having experienced it before and, I for one, were very pleasantly rewarded. It has a lovely decor and style. It has a lovely style with a well set-out seating arrangement, whether iniside or outside.

The staff, I feel, are very professional and their punctuality was quite spot on. They provided humour and professionalism in equal measure, knowing when to not take jokes too far and when to be relaxed and set a good mood.

The meal that I had was wonderful, a hot-pot with seasoned dumplings. It had a bit too much grainy mustard in the mash, but the meat was very soft and tender, the dumplings giving off the wonderful aroma that I remember my grandma and mother would make, providing an aroma that was to die for. The staff selection of wine was nice and their Rosé was quite tasty.

All in all, it was a good evening, where I will happily recommend others to go and I know that I will be going again myself.
